Liquorice all sorts

As requested by Trix, here's a Jinjerup take on liquorice all sorts.
:P Even though, I'm not a big fan of how liquorice tastes, I do love how they look. Their colors and shapes are oddly fascinating! Now, I wonder who designed them as such?

The first two designs are based on the existing original and fruit flavours, whilst for the third, I've added in how chocolate might look like in the all sorts style :)

I'm rather curious about the fruit all sorts, as I've never seen them before I googled up on these all sorts! Has anyone ever tried them? Are they nice? Do they taste purely fruity or do they have a liquorice taste as well? :P Oh please do share!

Biscuit rolls

Lovely to snack on, biscuit rolls are such a hit! grin* I usually grab a handful (or 2) to munch, and a handful is about 5-6 rolls :P they are that addictive. Biscuit rolls look like thick straws made of biscuits (complete with stripes).

Most of the time, the rolls are filled with a strip of flavored creamy icing, these flavored rolls come with colored stripes which are the same color of the icing inside. For instance, strawberry flavored rolls get pink stripes whilst chocolate ones get brown stripes. & sometimes, they come plain, these types of rolls are usually fatter in diameter. You should try using the plain ones as straws :P they go really well with coffee!

chuckle* If let's say the biscuit rolls get left out of their containers for a little too long, they tend to go really soft, with no more crunch in them. It was actually my fave moment when I was a kid, cause when the biscuit rolls got soft, you could unroll them! lols* Then you'd have an unrolled striped biscuit sheet, all the better to get to the icing inside! :P

Freebie of the week: Iced gems Notecards

My week's zipping by in a blink of an eye, I am so longing for the weekend!! Since I can't drive at the mo, I have to rely on other kind souls (grin*) to be kind enough to ferry me out of the house, for a little bit of shopping fun & be my chauffeur, porter and butler (all rolled into one)! Iced gems

Oh cute little biscuits of my childhood, you are sorely missed! :P
Iced gems were so next on Jinjerup's Snacks & Treats theme list, for you guys who aren't familiar with what they are, I'll try my best to give you a description of what these precious yummies are.

They're actually little round biscuits with cute dollops of hardened icing on top, and they come in 4 colors of icing. The ones found where I am are usually pink, white, yellow & green. Wonder why they didn't make more colors plus I wonder who got to choose those colors, why pink, yellow, white & green? :P Well, from what I've just read, the updated color palette of these iced gems are white, yellow, orange, red and purple.

Sugary goodness in every little munch, I used to bite off all the icing, keeping them aside to nibble after finishing off the round biscuit base! :P From what I recall, I got really hyper from all that sugar! grin* If you guys have never tried them, you should, they are very adorable!

If you had the chance to pick 4 colors for your customized batch of iced gems, what colors would you choose? :)

Pretzels!

March brings a tasty new theme to Jinjerup: Snacks & treats!
Yums! I'll be designing brand new patterns centred around this delightul theme.
If you guys have any fave snacks or treats, do leave your suggestions or comments in our posts throughout this month & we'll see what we can do ;)

Freshly baked pretzels, of the sweet or savory kind are our first batch of Jinjerup patterns! I love the ones with the crunchy hard exterior and their sprinklings of salt & I also adore the soft doughy sweet cinnamon sugar-covered ones! I can never decide which I like best! :P

:) Its been an eventful morning, my family just had a ton of relatives over as its the last official day of Chinese New Year! This special day known as Chap Goh Mei marks the fifteenth and final day of the Lunar New Year period and is also known as the Chinese Valentine's Day.

On Chap Goh Mei , young unmarried women gather to toss tangerines (with their names & contact numbers, please insert your email add too! ) into the sea or nearby lake, in the hopes that their future spouse will pick it up. Apparently, they've taken to throwing all sorts of other fruit too (to stand out), a friend once saw a watermelon and banana bobbing along!! LOLs*

Well, to commemorate this special day, here's a brand new trio of patterns. These 3 cute hearty designs are the last batch of heart themed patterns for the month of February!

Key to my heart

I've been quite taken with silhouttes of late & I like drawers full of keys, so silhouttes + keys = Key to my heart! :P Jinjerup's new pattern! lols* nono, actually I was inspired to design this new batch, after a conversation with a close friend about finding & keeping love.

If I threw you into a room so full of keys, could you find the key to my heart? Imagine being in a room with heaps & heaps of keys, keys of every make & sort! It would take one ages & plenty of determination, & not to mention perseverance to want to sift through every single key just to find the one, the only one to unlock the door to love.

That's a tough challenge indeed, but don't you think it would be so worth your tremendous effort if the person on the other side is the just the one you've been looking for? :) How long did it take you guys to find love, please do share! ;)

Jinjerup in Pattern!

Here's a spot of news: I was just checking out Print & Pattern blog a few days ago, when I stumbled upon Marie's feature of her latest book purchase: Patterns, Motifs| Muster| Patronen. (by Macarena, booqs publishing)



I was thrilled to discover that she had taken a snap featuring Jinjerup's Pitter Patter pattern (pattern on the left in picture below) in this brand new Pattern book! :D I have been waiting so very (im)patiently for my copy of the book to arrive in the mail, am super excited!

Love Lenses

I woke up with this phrase in my head 3 days ago "You are the love through my lenses". Intrigued by it, I sat and thought hard about how it managed to wrangle its way into my semi-conscious state of mind. Nada, till the present moment, I still can't seem to locate its source.

But what I did manage to do, was design this new trio of patterns based on it :P lols* heart shaped glasses to suit your whims & moods. I'm liking the blaise rose's color palette quite a lot now, the greys & pinks & blues go so well together :D

Curious at heart

Yay, I'm back after my short Chinese New Year break! To continue the love inspired theme for this month, I was messing around with these hearts when I came up with these oddly mesmerizing patterns. I can't seem to stop staring at them! :P

imho, it looks as if the hearts are turning round and round on a horizontal bar, this would be probably due to their big to small sized arrangements. lols* how very curious, indeed!

Melting for you

Ooooh, I couldn't resist! Its been absolutely sooooooooooooooo hot this week... my foot in a cast, felt like it was being in a mini oven. My efforts of trying to ignore the heat brought on many, many thoughts of binging on as many ice creams & lollies as I can get my hands on.

But.. a) I'm stuck in the house alone, I don't dare risk foraging for ice creams downstairs alone.. so not worth the effort if there are none :( and b) I can't possibly drive out if there are none around!! So I was absolutely sweating buckets when I thought of this funny little pattern. Sweating, half chomped ice creams in their melting hot love (for you)! :P
